The story goes that when Sri Hanuman conveyed the message from Sri Rama, Sita Devi garlanded Sri Hanuman with a betel vine as a token of Her joy and appreciation, as she could not find any flowers nearby. Betel leaves should be made into a garland with a piece of arecanut in each leaf.

The traditional way to pray is to slowly walk around the idol while reciting the Hanuman Chalisa from the prayer book. Meditating and standing in silence for a minute before leaving the temple is said to impart forgiveness in people for their sins.

Donate Sindoor(Vermillon) and Chameli oil/Jasmine oil for the idol of Hanumanji. Sindoor denotes victory and is a favorite of the Lord.

Chant the siddha mantra- “Aum Namoh Hanumate Bahaya Bhanjanaya Sukham Kuru Phat Swaha” 11 times everyday.

    Read the potent Bajrang Baan.

Make sweets of laddoo and sugar

Whenever you see a monkey in the neighborhood, it is best to feed jaggery, chana (whole unshelled roasted gram) and water. (Practice this only if it is safe).

Reciting the name of Shri Ram is also a way of propitiating Hanumanji.

Hanumanji is a potent panacea for all evils against Mars/Kuja Dosha and Shani Dosha and Sade Sati, Shani Mahadasha and Dhaiyya.
