We find some arithmetic and geometric series of numbers having interesting properties in Vedic literatue. Yajurveda mentions the following sequence of pair of odd (ayugma) numbers. (1, 3), (3, 5), (5, 7), (7, 9), (9, 11), (11, 13), (13, 15), (15, 17), (17, 19), (19, 21), (21, 23), (23, 25), (25, 27), (27, 29), (29, 31). • By sum of these pairs, the pattern arising is 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60. • By multiplication of these pairs, the pattern arising is 3, 15, 35, 63, 99, 143, 195, 255, 323, 399, 483, 575, 675, 783, 899. The numbers in this pattern are progressing with a variable difference pattern i.e. 12, 20, 28, 36, 44, 52, 60, 68, 76, 84, 92, 100, 108, 116. • By adding first two numbers, then first three numbers and so on, we get all squares of 2 to 17 1+3 = 4 1+3+5 = 9 1+3+5+7 = 16 1+3+5+7+9 = 25 1+3+5+7+9+11 = 36 1+3+5+7+9+11+13 = 49 and so on.
