    The answer is to the question is simple. the soul is neither male nor female below is answer to the question whether soul is male or female :

    Scriptures say God is supersoul(Paramatma), (all living beings as "individual souls" which are distinct from supersoul).
    Supersoul(Paramatma) & soul(Atma) has the spiritual form of sachidananda svarup but not material form like matter.
    Sacchidananda is a combination of 3 words or attributes:
    Sat = Truly Eternal existence .
    Chit = consciousness/Knowledge
    Ananda = bliss.
    Eternal conscious blissful existence.
    These are the tree qualities of god as supersoul and also soul.

    Male or female is the quality of the material body but not soul as per the verse of Svetasvatara Upanishad (5.10) as stated earlier.
    God is having spiritual form of Sacchidananda(Eternal conscious blissful From) but considering god as "Formless" is false...
    When the god comes to this material world, god does not take the material body but he will be with his own spiritual form but due to his maya(illusory energy of lord) God appears to us like oridinary form, this is as mentioned in scriptures like Bhagavad-Gita, etc. But souls(living beings) has to take the material body to enter the material universe.
    Living beings instead of identifying themselves with material body if they start identifying themselves with soul or Atma then they can realize the spiritual truth.
    Svetasvatara Upanishad (5.10) explains:
    naiva stri na pumaneshha na chaivaya na napumsakah
    yadyachchhariramadatte tene tene sa yujyate
    Translation: “The individual soul is neither female, nor male, nor neutral. Whatever body he assumes, he becomes identified with that.”

    Even though Upansishads says Soul (or self) is not male, not female, but not both(or mixed). But Transcendent to all these.
    Bhagavad Gita chapter 4 verse 35 says: O Pandava after acquiring such knowledge you will never again be deluded. By that knowledge you will see all living beings as Jivatmas(soul).
    Are we able to think our self as transcendent to all these? Is it possible to attain salvation(moksha) even though we do not have this vision or realization?

    Thanks for this informative read. One question, Is it true that soul has no relation with a live person? Like if someone sister died, then her soul will be not her sister, it can even harm him/her. Is it right ?
